  1. Тиволи вилла Д’Эсте (DEste).
  2. Вилла Д'Эсте. В 20 км. от Рима создана обитель – вилла Д'Эсте, которая явилась прообразом для создателей парковых ансамблей Версаля и Петродворца. Не случайно творение архитектора Лигорио называют еще и виллой пятисот фонтанов, большая часть из которых еще и сегодня в действии. Вилла Д'Эсте - одно из самых удачных в мире воплощений, пожалуй, наиболее сложного из видов искусств - садово-паркового искусства.

  4. Вилла Адриана. Разрушенная императорская вилла, откуда император Адриан правил Римской империей на закате своей жизни имеет великолепные виды, чудесную природу и удивительный микроклимат, что помогает и сегодняшнему путешественнику обрести чувство покоя и гармонии с окружающим миром, которые в сочетании с величественными руинами, окутанными дымкой романтического настроения, так удивительно точно переданными целыми поколениями художников, делают знакомство с этим местом воистину незабываемым. Day Trips

Frascati -Villa Mondragone
Frascati, famous for its white wines is also renowned for Villa Mondragone (University) and artistic centre.

Villa Mondragone is the largest and one of the most beautiful villas; it was acquired in 1981 by the University of Rome and over the course of its long history hosted a lot of important events. It was the residence of Popes and famous families of the ancient nobility.

Built in the 1500’s it was acquired by the Borghese family around 1613 and at its maximum splendour during their era.

It was here that pope Gregory XIII initiated and reformed the calendar now in use and known as the Gre gorian calendar.

Artena – Home to Palazzo Borghese
Artena, situated in the northwest of the Monti Lepini Mountains 45 minus from Rome is home to Palazzo Borghese (17th Century).

Apart from its wonderful history the Palazzo’s front garden /balcony was used in the scene for Franco Zeffirelli Romeo and Juliet (1968) 

Norba
An ancient Roman town 1st century BC is situated one hour from Rome.

The town is perched above a cliff overlooking the Pomptine Marshes; it served as a fortress guarding Marshes and was destroyed during the civil wars at the end of 82 B.C.

Excavations are still being conducted and the remains visible on the site, are entirely Roman.

The Botanical Gardens of Ninfa
Just below Norba, lays the beautiful Gardens of Ninfa known mostly to garden enthusiasts, Ninfa and its unique setting are still a fairly well-kept secret.

Ninfa was a substantial town going back to the times of the Romans. However, during the middle Ages the town was hit with malaria and eventually Ninfa was left to slumber until the twentieth century when descendents transformed the town’s ruins into a botanical garden.

The last owner, Lelia Caetani, left the garden to a foundation that now runs the site.

Tivoli
Is an ancient Italian town in Lazio Region, about 40 minutes from Rome.

The Renaissance Villa d’Este (World Heritage) was built in the 1550s for Cardinal Ippolito d’Este.

Built over a Benedictine convent, the palace was intended for entertaining and contains frescoe reception rooms.

The main attraction however, is the breathtaking garden, composing almost exclusively of water features and Fountains. 

Palestrina
An ancient city dating back to the 7th century, Palestrina is known for the Temple of Fortuna built around 82 BC. The temples design was Hellenistic (Greek Influence).

Roman Emperors would travel to Palestrina for an ordinance with the Oracles (High priestess) to worship the Goddess Fortuna.

By 1297 the Colonna Family took over the temple and built their palace over on top. Later in 1630 it was passed over to the Barberini family where they still resided today. The main temple is now an Archaeology museum.

Anagni – The Crypt
Anagni is an ancient town 2nd century BC situated in central Ital and placed on the ridge of a hill (460 meters above sea level)

Called the city of Popes, Anagni was a very religious town and from the 12TH -14th Century it was the residential home of many popes. Today the palace of Pope Boniface VIII is open to the general public.

The Cathedral of Anagni – build 1065, the interior represents a Gothic style period. Because of the frequent presence of Popes in Anagni the cathedral became a place of important historical events, the pact between the Papacy and the empire was made and the canonization of 4 major saints.

Know as “The Sistine” chapel of central Italy
The Crypt of St Magum – is one of the most beautiful in Italy, it was build at the same time 10th century. The Frescoes (called the Bible of the poor) covers 540m and is the work of three masters (Benedictine Monks) it was ordered by the bishop Pandolfo in 1227. 5 saints are buried within the crypt.
